FAMILY RETREATS

Make memories with a family gathering at The Morris Estate! Focus on quality time instead of worrying about cooking or cleaning. The River House offers 16,000 sq ft of spacious suites and living spaces. Play ping pong, foosball, board games or poker in our game room. Outdoors make s’mores around the campfire, hike the trails together, or splash in the Blacksmith Lodge pool.

Culinary Retreats

Foodie alert! If you love to cook or just love to eat, a culinary retreat is a unique way to spend time with your friends or family. Go behind the scenes in the stunning kitchen of The River House and learn to prepare a new dish together. Choose from options that include seasonal or local ingredients grown in Southwest Michigan or The Morris Estate. Your group will have an unforgettable experience of laughter and learning as you navigate the kitchen with one of the culinary professionals from our food and beverage team.

In the evening, gather in the Drawing Room Bar & Lounge for cocktails or wine while our culinary team serves a six-course dinner expertly curated by Executive Chef Thomas Sheridan. Each dish is a work of art that is almost too beautiful to eat. But go ahead…dig in! Rates begin at $850/person. (Varies based on single or double occupancy. Women’s Retreats

Gather your best friends for a weekend of creativity at one of our private crafting retreats. From the craft table to the dinner table, enjoy fellowship with your favorite people in a relaxing setting while being treated like royalty. Our staff will see to your every need…let us pour the coffee or fluff the pillows! Packages include lodging, meals, and a craft experience of your choice. Choose from a range of options, including wreath making, floral arranging, or holiday crafting.

Additional activities can be added, such as onsite spa services or Southwest Michigan winery tours along the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail. Rates begin at $850/person. (Varies based on single or double occupancy. Retreats are intended for groups of 6-20)

Group Accommodations

From individual suites to private home and cabin rentals, we can customize your retreat lodging to meet the needs of your group. Whichever space you choose, you will enjoy a comfortable and lavish atmosphere steeped in history. Each building has a history going back to early 1900s when E.M. Morris originally founded the farm.

Private Events Offsite

Our offsite venue, located in the city of Niles, is a short 10 minute drive from the estate. Gallery 1245 offers a private space dedicated to corporate meetings and events. Whether a rehearsal dinner, birthday party, reunion or business gathering, we can provide personalized planning and catering services.

Accommodating up to 140 guests, Gallery 1245 presents a classic design punctuated with ritzy accents to create a jazzy atmosphere. Features include tables, chairs, linens, place settings, dance floor, presentation equipment, and full service bar.

Holiday Parties

Celebrate the holiday season in style! Whether hosting a relaxed family gathering or planning a grand corporate event, make it unforgettable evening at Gallery 1245. The private space offers a fun and festive venue for either a plated dinner or a casual cocktail party. Complete with a dance floor and full-service bar, Gallery 1245 creates the ideal spot for your next Christmas, New Year’s Eve or other holiday gathering.
